Microlight on Port Meadow

Microlight over Port Meadow Oxford
Port Meadow in Oxford is home to a wide variety of airborne creatures, not all of them natural.

If I need justification for carrying a camera out there most days, I found it on Sunday 4 February 2006 when a rare species made a couple of turns in front of me.

The purists would no doubt object to this on more than one ground - the ornithologists certainly did as birds scattered in every direction. I thought it wonderfully cheeky - a confusing hybrid of ET, Heath Robinson and Geri Halliwell, all out of their usual context.
