This pretty boat is at the bottom of a garden in Kingston Road. The canal water was clear and the sun shone.

The floods have made the waters of the Oxford canal very clear. The scaffolding is rather more attractive than the building it conceals.

Castle Mill Boatyard on the Oxford Canal. Property developers British Waterways Board (previously best known as the statutory guardian of Britain's canals) has turned the boatyard business out and wanted to throw up a tacky development with the help of a down-market volume house-builder.
