Binsey Buttercups

Buttercups at Binsey, seen from Port Meadow across the River Thames. What you cannot see is that much of the Perch Inn, behind the trees to the right, was destroyed by fire a few days earlier.

It was dark when this was taken apart from the moon behind and the lights of the Perch and a couple of canal barges on the river. The woods of Wytham Hill beyond are blue and mysterious and it looks as if the Perch is on fire. A week later it was.
