I like the contrast between the neat row of trees across the River Thames towards Wytham and the ragged ones on Burgess Field

The three surviving old trees across the Thames are belatedly turning to green, a month or so after everything else on Port Meadow. This is the northernmost of them.

Burgess Field is a former rubbish tip, lying between Port Meadow and North Oxford. The dustcarts still rolled over Port Meadow when I first came to Oxford. These places have to have administrative labels these days, so it has become a "Nature Reserve".
